Bruce Willard is an American poet. His poems have appeared in “Poet Lore,” “Cortland Review,” “African American Review,” “Agni Online,” NPR’s “Writer’s Almanac”, “Harvard Review,” “Ploughshares”, “Salamander,” “5 A.M.” and numerous other publications. His first collection of poems, Holding Ground, was published by Four Way Books (NYC) in 2013. Violent Blues, his second book was published by Four Way Books in 2016. His third collection, Bond, is forthcoming.
Willard is a graduate of Middlebury College with a BA in American Literature and holds a MFA from Bennington College’s Writing Seminars program. An ex-disc jockey and forklift operator, he oversees several retail clothing catalog businesses including 32 Bar Blues (www.32barblues.com) which features artisan-style clothing and accessories for men and honors the work of pioneering American musicians, writers and photographers.
